Senior User Researcher
Hippo Digital is a Digital Design Agency based in Leeds, England. My role involves working in a Lean UX and an Agile Delivery environment.
My key role and responsibilities include:
- Fully versed within the Government Design Service Manual and ensuring research conforms to GDS's Digital Service Standards.
- I am responsible for research design and proposal writing in which the research design closely maps to the research objectives.
- Responsible for quantitative and qualitative research activities such as sampling, questionnaire design and analysis, interviews, ethnographic observations, facilitating workshops, focus groups and other types of group discussion, managing stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Responsible for identifying key performance indicators and analysing large data sets to monitor and evaluate product/ service performance.
- Responsible for supporting usability evaluation sessions in the laboratory or remotely such as experimental design, using a range of tools to collect data, writing usability reports supported by evidence such as video, graphs, tables and pictures.
- Responsible for negotiating with the project team to ensure that user research makes a valuable contribution to a project and that user insights are acted upon.
- In terms of software I use the following to do my job: Balsamiq (Wireframe mock up tool), Smaply (automating design of user journey), Camstudio (screen recording software), Google hangouts (for screen sharing), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office.
